Fresh Holiday 'Dos For Natural Hair

The New Crown Braid
We love the classic romance of this easy style, but you know what else we're into? It’s ridiculously fast and easy. Like, soooo easy.

Make a part directly behind your left ear up to just below the crown of your head. Sweep the hair in front of the part across the crown of your head. Easy so far, right?

Using a comb or a brush, smooth the top. The front of the style should be even in texture and height.

Then, gathering hair along as you go, create a raised Dutch braid. Start from behind your left ear, then braid along the hairline. (Not sure how to do a Dutch braid? Here's our video tutorial.)

Continue braiding across the front of your hairline. Create a low-swept style by braiding along the sweep of the hair; the hair should cover your ear, with the braid going just across the lobe. End the braid just behind the back of your ear.

End the style by tucking the remainder of the braid at the nape of the neck. Gather the remaining hair into a low tucked roll at the base of the head. Secure the style with bobby pins underneath the roll.

Devan was swept away by this updated classic as well. “I like how funky the braid looks," she said. We see some great selfies in her future.
