| Double Back Braids With Upfront Lift Any style that looks this complex, yet is so simple, has our hearts. When you see how easy it is, we think you’ll love it, too. |

| Secure the end with a bobby pin to close off the braid. |
![]() |
| Repeat the upward cornrow on the remaining section in the back. Be sure to keep the braids close to each other. The next step depends on it. |
![]() |
| Smooth pomade along the hairline to keep baby hairs in place. Miko used Miss Jessie’s Baby ButterCreme for softness and a gentle hold. |
![]() |
| Take the loose side sections. Brush them smooth from the hairline to the ends. |
![]() |
| Now, simply smooth those side sections back... |
![]() |
| .... and crisscross them over the braids in the back. Secure the hair to the braids with bobby pins for a retro-cool look. |
![]() |
| Take the excess hair directly over the crown of your hair and simply tuck it over the top. This will cover the top seams of the braids. Pin the section in place to finish the back. |
![]() |
| Finger-fluff your crown and bangs for a style with serious attitude. You’re done! |

| The Festive Fauxhawk We love inspiring maximum envy with hairstyles, and this one is sure to bring on the jealousy. Rocker 'hawk with side braids? So hot and so easy. Let’s do this. |
![]() |
| Using a rattail comb, make a part directly over the arch of your left eyebrow, ending at the crown of the head. This is your lead part, which will set the direction of the style. |
![]() |
| Make another part, directly underneath that part to create a one-inch section of hair. Cornrow that hair all the way to the back part at the crown. |
![]() |
| Secure the end of the braid to your head with a small bobby pin, leaving your ends free behind it. |
![]() |
| You’ll repeat that step for a total of three braids on the right side, allowing the ends to blend with the back of your hair. See, we told you this was easy. Let’s move to the other side. |
![]() |
| Repeat this process on the other side of your head. This creates a fauxhawk of hair along the top hairline. |
![]() |
| Use your hands to sweep your hair upward along the front and above the crown to add height to your fauxhawk. Then, fluff your length with your fingers to create lift and definition. |
![]() |
| Add bobby pins along the sides of the center section to keep height in place (if you feel you need it). Just hide the pins within the roots of your hair. Ta-da! Fauxhawk completed. |
![]() |
| No pomades or creams were used to complete this style, but Miko says it’s always an option. “Give your hair what it needs to look its best,” she explains. |

| The New Crown Braid
We love the classic romance of this easy style, but you know what else we're into? It’s ridiculously fast and easy. Like, soooo easy. |
![]() |
| Make a part directly behind your left ear up to just below the crown of your head. Sweep the hair in front of the part across the crown of your head. Easy so far, right? |
![]() |
| Using a comb or a brush, smooth the top. The front of the style should be even in texture and height. |
![]() |
| Then, gathering hair along as you go, create a raised Dutch braid. Start from behind your left ear, then braid along the hairline. (Not sure how to do a Dutch braid? Here's our video tutorial.) |

| Devan was swept away by this updated classic as well. “I like how funky the braid looks," she said. We see some great selfies in her future. |

| Rolled hairs can be a go-go no need of special treatment to get out this XMAS in style. Scroll down to see how to get this look. |
![]() |
| Use a natural-bristle paddle brush to smooth the front of your hair down. It will make the front roll really pop, trust us. |
![]() |
| Starting at the front of the side-swept section, bobby-pin your hair down along the curve of the head, right over the side of the temple to just over your ear. |
![]() |
| Now, just roll your hair upward to cover the pins. Secure the roll with extra bobby pins along the top of the roll and now, the front roll is done. |
![]() |
| Roll the remaining hair outward and toward your ears to cover those pins in the same manner as before. Secure the roll with extra bobby pins. |
![]() |
| Use a pomade to smooth the baby hairs down along the front of your hair before tucking the last part of your hair. “You want it to still have movement, so this helps smooth things back without being too stiff or weighing hair down,” says Miko, who used Miss Jessie’s Baby ButterCreme. |
![]() |
| You should now have two upward-facing rolls in the back section of your hair. |
![]() |
| Our model, Devan, loved this look. “I love how romantic the style is," she said. "I’d have to wear this somewhere I’d be seen.” |
![]() |
| You'll draw attention no matter where you rock this look — it’s a stunner. |
